Not quite half way through the season and since there's not really anywhere to talk baseball I decided to make a thread. Feel free to talk about anything and everything thing baseball. Past, present, or future. Fave team, player, era? What do you love about the MLB these days? What do you hate? Picks for playoffs and World Series? If you don't like baseball feel free to post anyways and please let me know when you realized you where gay. Go Braves!

Just going to say 2 things....
1- no one who has been caught using or obviously has/ had used PED's should ever get into the record books, definitely not the hall of fame.
2- the Houston trAstros should have their World Series title stripped.... the trophy is not just a piece of metal.
Rant over

Agreed no one who has been busted should get into HOF.

With regards to the Astros not only should have they had the WS Title stripped but the managers and coaches on that team along with Cora & the Red Sox who were somewhat using it as well should have been banned for life. Not this one year crap where Cora is back as the team manager and Hinch is now with the Tigers.

100% agree

I actually disagree on both counts. PED’s were widely used and they KNEW about it and did nothing. They were loving the ratings. Also, I don’t care how roided up someone is, you still have to hit a round ball traveling 95 mph with a round bat. I know plenty of players who used PED’s and they didn’t get better. Yes I know the advantages of taking them but again, MLB knew and turned a blind eye. If I saw a player juicing and making millions and no one cried foul, I would too.

I’m a lifelong Astros fan so yes there will be bias.I have ocean front property in Arizona if you think the Astros were the only ones doing it and the ones that started it. There’s a reason you keep hearing about the blue bloods doing it and the MLB sweeping it under the rug. MLB chose their scapegoat just like they do every time something is rampant and they don’t do anything about it. Ex player said Tony LaRussa was doing the same thing in the 80’s but magically the MLB shut that up too. I’m not saying I agree with what they did but if you really think the WS title was taken away, all would be good? I guarantee the Astros made a deal with MLB that they could keep the title as long as they shut up and didn’t expose all their knowledge with other teams doing it. The MLB would then have a huge issue just like PED’s and we all know how that went.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. Cheating is cheating and no matter what the reasons or excuses are behind it, it tarnishes any game or sport. You cheat, you might have won, but you didn't beat the other person. Regardless of how many people where on steroids, it was cheating. The fact MLB used the long ball to bring fans back after the strike doesn't make it ok either. It's still cheating. It's just greed overcomes integrity sometimes.
And other teams using technology to steal signs and relay that information back to the player at bat, unless they admit it or proof comes out, I don't see it. He said, she said doesn't hold up in my mind.
And in my opinion, there have been plenty of big games decided by screwed up intentional walks. It doesn't make the game longer... what, maybe 2 minutes? I say bring it back. Pitch the 4 balls

I understand your he said she said argument but I’ve been around too long to understand when that doesn’t apply. Red Sox and Yankees were both warned about using electronics, that’s proof it was a known issue bigger than one team. Plus, the people who were blamed for it all came from different organizations right before that year which points to they used what they were taught.

Mike Fiers is a ***** too. He violated every rule of bro code and is still too scared to face the Astros.

Im in the camp of speed the game up. If it’s going to survive long term, they have to make it quicker. Peoples attention spans are so little these days. Honestly, when I played, I never slowed anything down. When I pitched, I worked very fast as it kept me in a groove.
