Pioneer DEH-80PRS EQ Config

Hello all,
My speakers are too bright and are sissing? I'd like to lower the highest options on my equalizer, but I can't seem to get it straight.
Can I edit the EQ's that it comes with, or can I only edit Custom 1 and Custom 2? Either way, I don't seem to have the correct steps down pat.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe I should have posted my question differently. Let me try again?
I'm a friggen idiot. I don't even know what a car stereo is? I bought this thing that makes music in my truck, but I don't know how? Maybe I'll ask people on this internet thingy and hopefully someone as stupid as I am can lend me some advice?? Oh, this is only for supersmart audiophiles who laugh at your silly EQ questions? Watch this video that will make no sense to you because you don't even know what network 1 and network 2 mean. Haha! I watched the suggested video and there was about 15 seconds that I understood, but didn't quite grasp it. Thankfully I got an explanation of "It has dual L/R 16 band EQ in Standard or Network mode", so of course my question has been answered! Thanks everyone!

That's a really advanced unit for someone who doesn't know much about car audio
Are you running aftermarket amps and speaker or is the HU just running your stock speakers

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm sorry I went off there, but I've had issues with 'audiophiles' that tend to talk down to people that don't have the latest 5K stylus on their turntables. Yeah, I don't know much about car audio, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't post here, right? I bought the amp because I heard good reviews about it. I have a pickup truck, so I don't have much hardware, but I do have an Alpine amp....not sure of the stats, and I do have a small subwoofer under the rear seats, and I have new Focal speakers in the front.....not sure of the model, but they ran me about 1K? My problem is simply that the highest highs are too high. I'd like to lower the eq at the highest range. There is a way of doing it, and I'm just not sure how. The video is a bit over my head. I was hoping I could just have someone explain the steps. I'm sorry I don't know much about car audio. I apologize for buying a high end unit. Is there a better forum out there for me?

Your saying your highs are " to high" , do you mean harsh, or do you mean they are picking up to much of the higher frequencies? If it's neither then you could try setting your EQ on the 80prs to be flat. Otherwise I would say it's the speakers you got, or your speaker amp settings need to be adjusted physically. Hope this helped somewhat. If you don't know what I mean look on your amp that's powering your speakers and adjust the subsonic and such. If your powering them from your headunit I would suggest trying what I said about using a flat EQ.

I would have had no problem helping you more or even taking a video showing you how to get to your EQ on my 80prs but since you want to be a dick when we are trying to help you why don't you fuck off and take it to a shop.

This guy is obviously a salesman's wet dream. They sold him the most expensive gear they had and sent him on his merry way.

Godspeed Bobo!

I appreciate the lesson in quantum mechanics.
Pretty douchy response. That video visually shows you all the features and what they do.

Dude what the hell ? (????).

If a basic company issued video is over your head then how exactly can you expect someone on a forum to verbally help you ? (you do realize that forum post are basically going to be what's presented in that video but with NO visual help ?).

Not only that you have the nerve to basically say "you guys are meanies is there another forum that's better ?".

You need a reality check

caco is a better forum.

Yes and no. CACO and Diymobileaudio are more technical forums but that will actually be a diservice to the topic creator.

Not only will the terminology be more technical/confusing but they will be way less responsive to "uhh i'm an idiot and don't want to research or learn any of the terminology".

D-bag statements like "thanks for nothing einstein" and "thanks for the science lesson" will get him borderlined banned on either of those 2 forums

I was being sarcastic. Caco is a ghost town.
