Can't really disagree. Plus apparently 1000 deaths a day is what it is. Gee thanks, some ******* leader. Imagine him saying that about dead soldiers.

So because he is president he is required to know who John Lewis was? He said he doesn't think he ever met him. Do you think John Lewis took time out of his life to learn what Trump has done in his life up to now? Nope. This is so damn stupid. Now Democrats want to shame people for not knowing people. How damn stupid is that?

I didn't know who he was until they started plastering his death all over the news. I took a look. Looks like an outspoken agitator who was arrested over 40 times during "peaceful protest" in the 60's. If these peaceful protest were anything like today's peaceful protest, it doesn't surprise me.

"He doesn't care about the History of this country". <---- ignorant statement. How much one cares about anything isn't based on if they know someone. The more I see idiots trying to shame people over dumb shit, the more I see IQ's dropping all over the country.

Perhaps everyone needs to start worrying more about the future of this country and what needs to happen and less about what cannot be changed because it has already happened. You cannot say someone does not care about history as you help mitigate history by removing statues and support the changing of names of military bases. History is history. It has already happened. How can you move forward if you are stuck in the past?

Don't be so defensive for him, Trump said he didn't know about him which is kinda dumb for a political leader to not at least read a wiki page on the guy when he's buried at the capital, but infinitely more dumb is that he claims to have done more for black people than anyone except abraham Lincoln including Lewis and specifically LBJ which is just batshit insane. "I've done more for the black community than the civil rights act did." I've never heard someone so pathetically require constant praise for doing their job poorly. No wonder the cops like him.

I've never seen anyone try to claim the 1960's protests were bad, that's a big yikes. Getting arrested by the police during that time in the protests means that you were there at the front lines to what brought about the change. In other words you gave everything to fight for it, and then got it. I can't believe you're taking the police side in 1960, you really lick that boot hard, not even modern day cops think what they did was right unless they're white supremacists. Watch some videos of it. When has Trump ever sacrificed anything personally for anyone? Unless sacrificing our closest allies for Erdogan's regime counts.

Do you think they're putting the statues through a rock crusher when they knock them over? lol. They end up in a musuem where they can get the context they deserve, likely now with new context that will be part of history. I don't go to the town square to learn about Stonewall Jackson from a placard saying "Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson 1824-1863" It's pretty clear why those statues were put up. Not right after the civil war btw, but during Jim Crow laws. They put them there to remind people who's land it is, even though he's a loser who wanted over 13% of the population to remain slaves, including many of the people that walk by them every day. Exactly, how can you move forward if you're stuck in the past? Apply that to our nation. Germany doesn't put up statues of Adolf Hitler to remind people of what evil looks like 40 years after the war, they took all the Nazi symbolism and put them in museums where people can be educated about what an evil organization it was was and how he divided Germany, furthering the notion that we all need to be careful of leaders like him. Why is America so different for you? Because you liked what those leaders stood for? I don't see why else you want them hoisted up as symbols of America on our streets or in our public buildings.

Easy there. I am not defending Trump. I am pointing out how stupid it is for ANYONE to shame ANYONE because they don't know someone.

Easy there. I am not taking the police's side in the 1960's. I am stating facts that Lewis was arrested 40+ times, mostly in the 60's.

Easy there. How about the statue thrown in the river?

Easy there. What's next... beating the shit out of everyone who has learned history in an attempt to erase their memory?

That last one is sarcasm of course.

He didn't take a neutral unknowning stance, he took a negative stance. If he didn't know him then why speak so boldly about them being worse than himself for the black community? If he didn't know him then why be mad he wasn't at his inauguration? Is that all it take to piss this little brat off? You're absolving him, how is that not defending? He said objectively insane things about John Lewis confidently despite not knowing him, isn't that a red flag? "I don't know but I think I do, after all, who could be better than me at anything?" Narcissist through and through.

Being an 'agitator' was called being present, black, and more concerned with the rights of your family and community than your own safety. People sitting down were sprayed with fire hoses and had their faces mauled by dogs and beaten by batons. Some historical context would greatly benefit the accuracy of your views.

Fish it out when the protests are over, record the process, clean off the mud, and tow it to the museum, placing the video on loop with an explanation of why it was chucked in the river along with details about the figure.

Lemme know when they start purposefully targeting the statues that are already inside of museums or trying to outlaw books and burn them. Then I'll agree that getting rid of history has anything to do with this.

Not one time when I watched the video of Trump on Lewis did he ever come off as angry or negative against Lewis. He was ask if he found John Lewis's life impressive. He said I didn't know the man, I didn't meet the man, he wasn't at his inauguration. How can he be impressed with his life if he didn't know him??? I don't know YOU, I have never met YOU, YOU have never come to meet ME so I can not be impressed with your life. That is all he said. How can I be impressed with his life. I don't know his life, I never met him.

Being an agitator... well, I am pretty sure there were thousands upon thousands of protestors in the 60's and I am willing to bet that the majority of them did NOT get arrested 40+ times. Not saying he was guilty of anything but I know when I don't do anything wrong... I don't get arrested. Just saying.

Fish it out after the "protest"... um you mean Riots don't you? Protest are legal and peaceful.

Let you know when they target statues already in museums... like target them again because the first time was just practice or target new ones? First they will have to get educated enough to know what a museum is and then where they are. When social media and LARPing is your life I can't expect they even know what they hell they are fighting for or why, or where they are, or why their genitals tingle when they flick them and why they laugh so much about it.

Trump: He didn’t come to my inauguration. He didn’t come to my State of the Union speeches, and that’s okay. That’s his right. And again, nobody has done more- (interruption) … for Black Americans than I have. He should’ve come. I think he made a big mistake by not showing up.
Swan: But taking your relationship with him out of it, do you find his story impressive? What he’s done for this country?
Trump: He was a person that devoted a lot of energy and a lot of heart to civil rights, but there were many others also.

Many others, so why focus on John I guess? It seems the prefered focus was how Trump is the black savior in his own mind, despite sending feds to quell their protests for bills as of yet uninitiated. Basically, why mourn for this guy? Other people have died too, why don't we take this moment that belongs to your dearly departed and mourn everyone else instead.

Slap a TM on that at this point bro, you've said it a hundred times. "Cops don't notice me unless I do bad stuff and even then they don't hurt me and gave me a second chance that I didn't deserve. It's obviously the same for everyone." Signed, random white person who committed crimes and isn't in jail. It's slowly becoming a new synonym for anecdotal fallacy. "My lived experience trounces the lived experience of millions as well as the stats that back them up." Even in the 1960's where there was video of police treating every single person worse than the officers now, which is a low bar.
Fish it out after the "protest"... um you mean Riots don't you? Protest are legal and peaceful.
No, the greater protest. After the tensions calm down. So long as it's not poisoning the river water downstream.

When they target any statue or historical object that's already surrounded by historical context. You know, actually trying to erase history, not just stop our societal and government sponsored worship of historical figures that wanted to treat minorities as less than. I personally find the prospect that these statues will have a new story to tell in their gallery more interesting and positive than a white supremacist statue looking over blacks as they walk down the street in their home town.

What a museum is? https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2015/04/07/a-deep-dive-into-party-affiliation/
Zoomers and millennial are by far the highest education individuals.
Social media maybe, although it's not like Boomers aren't addicted to Facebook either. LARPing lmao, that's pretty specific, I dunno if that has anything to do with it except that some republican evangelicals think that means they coerce with demons haha. This is all starting to sound like a person you're talking about, not a multi-generational movement.

Larping, lmfao! I can't stop laughing. Hey, as long as trump knows who the likes of the Kardashians are and not civil rights and political leaders, true leaders such as John Lewis, then everything is A OKAY! (y)

Fuck trump

No intelligent answer, just a smart *** comment.

The answer is we are not a single color. We are a mix of everything. It is selfish for one race to expect that EVERYTHING change for them. What is so wrong with change for everyone? Why can't things be better for ALL AMERICANS?

You asked a stupid question so I gave you the answer you deserved.
