Lets start by saying upfront i have 2 fosgate 6.5s which are rated at 100rms each, running off a 4 channel skar 150.4. I wish to add tweeters to the mix, but how would i wire them up? I would like to go all fosgate, getting either a set of Punch P1T-S which is 60rms or PP4-T which are only 50rms
if i wire them to the same channel as the front speakers on the amp, it would be a final load of 2ohm, which skar advertises 250w rms at that impedance. Would this cause any problems? Any advice would be appreciated.

If your goal is to see smoke coming out of the tweeters then you are on the right track. Run the 6.5's off the rear channels and the tweeters off the front channels. Add some 9.94uF capacitors to the tweeters if you don't have a x10 switch on the front channels of the amp on the crossover section. The tweeters will probably still melt as a potential 125w to a tweeter is pretty much going to fry them like a hooker in a hospital getting swabbed for the clap.

Edit: I see it DOES go up to 5Khz on the high pass crossover.... technically you COULD run tweeters ... be aware... they will probably melt unless you take caution and gain the amp correctly.

If I run the tweeters off channel 1 and 2 won't I miss out on some sound stage, as my hu has 4 pre outputs for every corner and this is essentially removing some of that flexibility?

The Pre-Outs are stereo pairs of the full range signal. If they are labled Front and Rear, they are still the same stereo signal. The crossovers on the amp will filter out what is not needed or not safe to play at each speaker. You will only lose the fader ability. As people often tell others who ask "Ditch the rear speakers" I have to add... when you are at a concert, where is the band? In front of you. If you use the 4 channel to power four speakers up front, you will have a loud set of components up front. If you have a pass through on the amp... send that to a sub amp. You would be moving the soundstage fully to the front... where it should be. As for "rear fill" or "ambient sounds" there will be plenty of reflections in the car to fill the cabin for ambience.

Ok I'll have to give that a try, has anyone tried skar tweeters? They are apparently 100w rms and I've had luck with there amps..

You don't have to give tweeters a lot of power for them to be loud. Look for tweeters with a sensitivity rating above 90db. The higher the better. Here is an example. A 30w rms tweeter with a 98db sensitivity would be preferred over a 80w rms tweeter with a 72db sensitivity rating. Haven't tried the Skar tweeters... what are the sensitivity ratings?
