OHMega bass

Hey everyone I hope I put this in the right category.
Let me start by saying that I pretty much know nothing about amplifiers and subwoofers other then the fact that subwoofers create bass and Amps power said subs to make said bass, with that out of the way let me tell you my predicament.
I have a focal fpp 1000 amplifier ( http://www.focal-america.com/product/fpp-1000/ ) right now that is currently powering 2 Clarion pxw 1051 10" subs ( https://www.clarion.com/ca/en/products-personal/speaker/PXW1051/ ) (sort of), let me explain. So with my current set up right and I listen to my music for about 10 mins before I assume that my amp shuts off and I have no bass, about 10 - 15 minutes later my bass is back for about 3 minutes before it shuts off again and it does the same this over and over. I always assumed it was because the amp was getting too hot. But I was recently told (last week) that my amplifier can't properly power my subs it's shutting down as a type of safety feature to prevent my amp from frying itself.
I also found out (last weekend) that my two Clarion subs are (I hope I got this right) dual coils? And I've only had half the subs wired properly meaning I only had one set of wires running to the sun instead of two sets, (I never wired them myself I got them off a friend who claims to know what he's doing) as a result of the improper wiring one of the subs was fried and one of the two coils doesn't work anymore (I took it to a car audio store and the guy there told me that after testing them both.) So 1 out of 2 of my subs has both could working properly and the other one has a fried coil so I'm looking for two new subs since Clarion doesn't make this subwoofer anymore.
I was wondering what 10" subs I should get that my amp can power and not constantly shut off on me.
I hope that what I wrote makes sense to you guys.
