Why does my subwoofer smoke like Snoopdogg on the low notes?

Clipping or too much power or both. Last time I remember doing that was with 2500rms to a low end 15" on free-air. Took it like a champ at first but smoke city after 5 seconds.

whats box tuned at? do u use ss filter? lower gain tad, raise ss filter may help..

Prly your remote wire. Try running 4g remote wire and problem solved. I blew out two back windows by upgrading my remote wire.an easy 173db with 2 12s

I dunno, shouldn't be from too much power because I only hooked up one coil so that's only half the power.
