I started on my new box yesterday. I'm using 2 JL w6v3 subs and I went with MDF 3/4 since it is only 22$ right now. This box will be 1.5 cu ft and tuned to 30hz. These were the suggested specs by JL audio so I'll try, what's 22$ but I personally like 2.0 at 30hz. This will be used as a home entertainment bass box by the way. I'll update as I progress

idealy you do want low 20s but since im using this for both music and movies 30hz will have to do. ive been using 32hz and it sounds good , making this box to save space.

 
Not sure if using these 12"s at 24hz lwould work well since they are technically car subs so just went with 30hz in case I want throw them in my truck. Ive been using car subs in home theater for years and they sound great tuned in mid to lower 30hz - I've never felt a lack of anything

Lookin' pretty good thus far. Round them corners for a pro look and then paint as you said.

Might I suggest T-Nuts, spiked ones so that you can mount the subs and then pull them out all day if you wanna.
