ZX350.4 going into protect

today is the first day it actually went into protect, i had my car and speakers playing for a while and then all of the sudden they just cut out so i went in the trunk and it was in protect mode and i felt the amp and it was REAL HOT, it never went into protect before, is there any other reason besides it being real hot that it would go into protect? also is it normal to go into protect if its real hot?

it just got hot and went into safe mode. turn gains down maybe or get a fan and put on it. how are ur gains set?

the amp1 and amp2 gains are about half way up, i got a pair of Pioneer TS-D1602R for the rear doors and a pair in the front and i got two kicker KS25 tweeters and this amp is running everything, what do you guys think i should have the frequency to on amp1 and amp2? amp2 controls the front speakers and tweeters and amp1 controls the rear speakers. my bass boost will remain at 0

yeah this is a pretty common sense sort of things...obviously its no good if your amp is hot, heat is never a good thing with car audio.

Set your gains lower and don't beat on it so hard. Remember if its hot out your equipment is going to get hotter faster, give it a break.

ok so if i lower the gains a bit, it shouldnt go into protect? the interiors dont sound as loud as they are supposed to when the gains are lowered
