Sorry im new to this stuff and i would like to get the 2 kicker L7 15 inch subwoofers. i know my car could not handle an amp like this. i was wondering if i have gotten an extra battery and had it wired to the main one and have the amp drawing from the extra one if that would work? or would i have to go a step further and have to buy an upgraded alternator?

what kind of car do you have? Do you have a sub box built for the subs. Not one from a store but real 3/4inch mdf wood so you can get full potential from the subs.

i have a ford fusion SEL v6 right now then ill be getting a dodge challenger. and its just a box that i bought off of sonic electronics. Its an Absolute box.

When you get your new car get a box design for the subs will make night and day difference. I would get a second battery right now and then when you get the challenger get a volt meter and decide if u need an alternator.

Well i would not buy an alternator for it if your going to switch cars soon. Just get an extra battery. ANy way i think those alternators are one of the worst to put in on any car.

I would get an extra battery right now and then when you get the challenger hook the extra battery up and get probably an hi output alternator also. It all depends on how you have the amp tunned. Just make sure when you get a battery get a couple 90ah batteries or just one huge battery.

Yeah the batter says it cranks 1000 amps and a max of 3300 amps. do you think that would be big enough?

What is the model number of battery?

Model number is D3400 brand is XS Power and also i just found a kinetik HC 3800 model number HC3800. which one would be best and if you dont like either of these tell me which one you would recommend.

I would get 2 of the xs-power or just one of the kinetik.

You will need an alt...

You will also need/want to sell those 15s for soemthing smaller. You will be hard pressed to get the correct size enclosure they need in the back of that car.
