Zed Draconia vs Sundown SAX-100.4

I need an amp to push a pair of Rainbow Germaniums up front and a 10" sub in the hatch and I've pretty much settled on ordering one of these two amps. The Draconia with the Burr Brown upgrade is about $100 more but the SAX-100.4 puts out a little more power. I like the way the Sundown looks a little more but other than that I'm having trouble deciding between them.

i say the sundown, only because it is 100 dollars less and has more power.

The $100 difference is well worth the added clarity you'll hear with the Burr Brown upgrade.

Not to mention that the Draconia is designed and built by a real legend in the amplifier market that has a history of standing behind their products years after the equipment is out of production.

Honestly, you just answered your own question.

The Sundown has more power, is $100 less and you like the cosmetics more.

That's all you need to know. Decision made.

You would be very hard pressed to hear any differences between them (other than possibly power differences)...even w/ the BB upgrade.

I totally agree with Squeak..........I don't think anyone would hear a difference other then the "power of suggestion".

price isnt justifiable for the burr brown. 100$ less is 100$ less, however if u were limited to room and space, the zed would be the answer. but sundowns sax 100.4 which i own is a beauty in its own. I 100% pleased with it features and quality. it a beast.

100 for BBs is a rip off imo...i mean they are good but they are cheap to purchase.

I would like to see you do something different. Your amps rule and I think going after a different "op amp" corrected thanks Squeak.... all together would be good. Look into something better then Burr Brown......Give your amps an appeal to the SQ crowd.....

Uh.....guys....amps don't have a DAC (Digital to Analog Convertor).

Burr Brown is an opamp "upgrade".

Though if he's happy with his current opamps, I don't really see the point in changing them.
