Zapco Simbilink?

I probably spelled that wrong, but anyway. . . I am getting a used 360.4 soon but w/o the Simbilink connectors. It's tough th find exactly what they do and wether there is any difference with or w/o them. Should I go buy one or am I fine with just the plain RCA's?

i have the same amp, but the company i bought it from always used the rca's, they say using the symlink cable it boosts the preout voltage and cleans up the sound quality, it seems to have responce than rca's deliver

yup,

symbilink is just a balanced line driver. if you run symbilink directly from the deck to the amp you have higher voltage, lower noise, better SQ. no issues with ground loops or other "dirt" in the signal.

but you do not need them, just hook it up and see if RCAs work well.

Well I'm using an Eclipse 8445 with 8V pre-outs, so perhaps I dont need the sibilink connectors then if all they do is boost pre-out response. If I find one cheap maybe I'll give it a whirl later, for now guess I'll stick with RCA's.

I never could never tell a difference in Sq between a symb vs rca zap reference setup...Nor could I tell one from running Arc xxks with rcas vs C2ks with symbilink.

I could only see benefits in lessening the amount of cables/connections should you run it with a Zapco processor, therefore optimizing the propritary conections.

No, symbilink is not just a balanced driver, its a line of balanced proprietary connectors. Yes, symbilink does have a balanced driver to chose from should you chose to use one.
