Yuup....Big 3 questions

I'm a first time DIYer. An I'm not a big motor head either (I had no daddy haha). Anyway I'm a intellectual individual, an I want to do a big 3/4 upgrade. I need to kno wher am I grounding on the alternator? Can I use the mounting bolts? I kno I can go straight from the engine block also, are the threaded holes to close to the headers? Like will it be to hot for the wire, even if I run straight up? View attachment 26549251View attachment 26549252View attachment 26549250

ground the casing of the alternator. there should already be a ground wire somewhere on it, see if you cant use that grounding location for the new ground.

as far as where to ground it, the engine block, the frame, anywhere that you can get to easily and will be out of harms way. I wouldn't use that spot next to the headers unless that was the only choice and you could make some sort of heatshield.

So I'm actually going off the black /back of the alternator? Shud I remove it an check for a threaded hole or shud ther be an existing ground wire?

Use an alt bolt that screws the alt in place this should almost always be a good engine ground. Then you can ground straight to the strut tower for a frame ground. Then positive alt to positive battery fuse no more then 12" from bat. Make use you sand down all surfaces if there is any paint I would sand anyways for better connection.

you are going to need to ground the metal casing, not the black plastic. if there isn't already a grounding point, just come off one of the mounting bolts then go to frame. this will ground your engine and alt in one.
