Your thoughts on interconnects

True enough, but limiting the amount of distortion in your system couldn't hurt. Think Zapco explains it really well, referring to the phenomenon as "Cumulative Error." Because it's not just one component of your sound system that adds distortion, they all do and it adds up.

That being said, if I had the cash and wasn't using Symbilink, I'd deffinately buy some Siltech or Shunyata cables, but only if I were spending a even more ridiculious amount on my equipment, interconnects shouldn't cost more than your system :p

There is no, zero, zip measurable difference between basic cables and the "super High-end" cables that will result in an audible effect. If you think that you hear a difference, it's all in your mind. It's all up to you if you want to pay a ton of money to stroke your ego, but your interconnects are not going to add any distortion or coloration to the signal.

If you ever "hear the wires" there is something very wrong.

You will never see a bad consumer review on a set of high-dollar cables. Why? Because no one is going to come out and say that they were duped into spending all that money and they can't hear a difference. If someone were to sneak in in the night and replace their mega buck cables with the basic Stingers, they would never know.

Richard Clarke did one several years ago. The basic result was that if you couldn't measure the difference with normal, basic test equipment, then you sure as hell couldn't hear the difference.
Yup. He was actually offering a challenge similar to his amplifier challenge for interconnects. If you could hear a difference in interconnects in a scientifically valid experiment, he'd pay you $XXXX.

When you think about it though (referring to a comment earlier, about how if you hear a difference it's "all in your mind"), everything comes down to how it's comprehended by your brain. If you're using $4000 per interconnect RCAs, and in your mind it sounds better, than what's the difference? The sound is being interpreted by your mind, if it thinks that it sounds better than who's to argue with that.

I also seriously doubt anyone uses the cost of their RCAs to boost their ego, that's kinda ridiculious, there's so many more effective things to boost your ego over, like SPL and penis size //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

honestly, i bet over half the people that have decent systems just do it for the attention and something to brag about. and i wouldn't put it past them to brag about how much their RCA's cost

Purchased stinger experts, just a nice clean looking cable and I got them at near cost "about $40 + ship" Ebay is like $65-70+++ then shipping.... I wanted them black with black chrome and they fit the bill perfect! Laser etched logo on the black chrome is sexy. Only goofy thing is the sheilded body of them is the same size as 4 gauge...

About the only nice interconnect I think stinger makes looks wise...
