Your thoughts on interconnects

IXOS pays Scott Buwalda to use their wiring. That's a bad example. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Actually it's a great example of how a succesful installer has benefited from the latest and greatest technology. I didn't post the link to defend my argument....just to point out that his comments got me thinking about my own wiring flow in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Also, I can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking my head up a bulls ***, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That means the crowd is silent because it wasn't funny //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

no no no, i was refering to you being a shameless douchefuck, that gets all butt hurt because you dont agree with the way in which i conduct myself on an internet forum. one of those questionmarks was also me being puzzled about how any of it happens to be any if your fucking business anyway (if we're gonna take the internet too seriously midas well not slack *** it) being as before you went out of your way to cry about how i conduct myself i had never mentioned you or implicated you in anyway negative.. shape, or form. but im sure you already knew that

Just my $0.02

I have used stinger brand, middle grade twsited pair with the foil noise rejection. I have also used expensive monster twisted cable but for this last install, I went to the shop to get some more RCA's and bought the cheapest they had just to compare. These were the just wire in a clear plastic coating, $10.00 each at a shop. I installed them and they sound every bit as good with LESS noise than the other 2 pair. The fact that it has less noise has to be due to the different particulars of the installs but I'll never pay an exorbitant price for cables again. My opinion after this is to use a decent mid grade patch and forget the exotic stuff

RCA's are like CAPS.....

Marketing Hype - If you feel u need to spend big bucks to say you have the best go right ahead,in my 20+ years of messing with audio I have never heard a lick of difference between 10.00 RCA's and 75.00 RCA's....

I have no system noise in any of my cars using cheap amp kit RCA's

Companys like Stinger,Tsunami and JL do an excellent job of marketing they products they have made by overseas companys, the same companys that also MFG's everyones elses RCA's....

Ill stick with KNU for price and consistancy, and his power wire is still the biggest in the market place

So does anyone know of any actual scientific research on the topic? I'd love to see and honest double blind study on a $10 pair vs a $100 pair or even a $1000 pair in a real environment such as a home or a car.

I refuse to pay more than $20 per 2-channel RCA -- regardless of length.

If somehow wiring your car with audiophile-grade IXOS as opposed to high-quality-and-still-reasonably-affordable Stinger Expert induces any less audible noise, then you my friend are the best installer in the world.

Hehe I used to use ixos gt500's which were great cables, got them for $35 for a 17' length. Nothing special about them.

Bingo, I spent weeks looking for the right interconnect. It was not that I was looking for unobtanium, uber sheilded, with iridium goncuelator technology, it was for the simple fact that I wanted a well built cable, reasonable price... and it had to look as good as the A7... well that has to be a pretty darn good interconnect. I ended up choosing Stinger Experts. Why the experts over the Ixos I have run for years? Because the experts were cheap when I shopped around "$40+ship for a 17'" Build quality was top notch and black chrome with a laser etched logo is just cool. The gt700's from ixos I wanted to run would not net me anything sq wise, nothing but bling, hype and a name which is what 9/10ths of the audio world is about. Just pick somthing you like the looks of that is built well and your set. Also when I used to run Ixos, they cost about 30-40% less than they do now. $75+++ for a gt700 is just stupid.

NOT according to IXOS....check this out:

The XFK01 subwoofer cable and the perfect choice for those wanting to replace their original subwoofer cable and upgrade their sound at the same time. The cable's twisted pair geometry offers great noise rejection and great bass response, particularly at low frequencies.

See, I KNEW I wasn't getting as good of low frequency response as I could!! Whew, what a relief!! THANKS IXOS!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
