Your thoughts on interconnects

Well, after a futile McGuyver attempt to save one of my Stinger RCA's I came to a realization that these cables are basically carrying all that high quality sound my amps are pumping out. I realize that you can spend a fortune on these things and you don't see their full benefit unless the cost of all the other system components justifies the investment.

So what do you think is the very basic type of cable that will act as a sufficient conduit for my super sexy sounds. The Stinger Helix series I murdered here is twisted, shielded with some foil, wrapped in a silver mesh and then incased in it's plastic jacket. But the cheapo RCA's from Radio Shack are basically the same minus the noise rejection elements, right?

Where does the law of diminishing returns come into play here? At what price point?

I refuse to pay more than $20 per 2-channel RCA -- regardless of length.

If somehow wiring your car with audiophile-grade IXOS as opposed to high-quality-and-still-reasonably-affordable Stinger Expert induces any less audible noise, then you my friend are the best installer in the world.

i have noticed less noise with symbilink versus rca's.

still a connection. red apples to green apples.
Well then, next time I ask about buying a new Buick, why don't we just all start comparing it to a jet fighter. I mean, they're both modes of transportation.

The question was in regard to differences between interconnects, not a conversation of balanced vs unbalanced.

there was a reference to noise in the signal and not being able to overcome it with another interconnect smarty-pants.

Symbalink is a balanced system.
Apples to oranges.
Symbilink //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have no problem with noise other than me trying to sing over Cindy Lauper at 75mph with the sunroof open //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

Actually, smarty-pants, that post was a reference to the lack of audible noise differences between an affordable quality RCA and a super-audiophile grade RCA interconnect.
