your reasons why?

why do you like the mic placement you use?

imo, the only one that should matter to anyone who actually drives their car is at the headrest. why should you care what it is(db's) in a place you are never gonna listen to at?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

It' not up to us where the org puts the mic at.

yeah, sorry trying to type between parts at work:rolleyes:
It's cool. I think most people compete in the orgs they do either because 1) It's all there is around them, or 2) Better competition than other orgs. There could be other reasons, like newcomers competing in a smaller/local org instead of jumping into USAC, DBdrag, MECA, etc. in order to get experience or just have a good time. And some people could just use the smaller orgs because they don't want to have to build $10k setups in order to be competitive.

I don't think mic placment has much to do with it as convenience does.

i compete in any and all of them even local piddly shows and who cares what class i get put in, its all about having fun and doing personal best #'s... at least to me

but wouldn't you want your best number where your ears are?
Not if I'm being metered somewhere else.

I just don't care about what my setup does at the headrest. Knowing what it does won't make me feel any worse or better about it either. And I'm certainly not going to switch up my box position/design in order to be louder somewhere that I'm not being metered at.

I think you're only seeing this issue from your point of view.

it's all about the numbers and WOW factor .... if you're the average teenage guy, would you want to compete in an org where you get 135-140 or 148-150 ? And the crowds are even more impressed with bigger numbers. MECA went with headrest to take away the advantage of small vehicles like the CRX and S-10 cabs.

There isn't a 10-15db difference between kick to headrest scores, come on now.
