Why do people get so upset when you even jokingly suggest that they may be gay?

I see this shit everyday in the real world and its kinda funny. I mean Im in kentucky right now so you know these idiots will do lots of stupid shit for the sake of proving their manhood.

Ive seen rednecks literally beat the shit out of themselves to prove this, but when it all comes down to it, what did they prove? The fact that they can beat the shit out of themselves? Personally I think that looks more rediculous than fashionable clothing.
