...because I just saved my parents a bunch of money on my job insurance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Well, I hate to start another new car thread, but heck...it's fun to hear suggestions. I get to have a newer car (perhaps 2001+) that follows the following criteria:

1) Dependable

2) Easy to fix/maintain

3) Nice resell value (although this isn't quite as important)

4) Looks nice (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

5)

6) No Hondas or Mitsubishis

So far, I've considered an Audi A4 Quattro (2001)...looks like a very nice, quality car. Has anyone had any dealings with this car? Either which way, it'll be better than my '93 Lumina Z34.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think you should get a ( Police Package Crown Victoriaolder or newer, between 1998 and present). Hands down.

Dependable, for the most part. I couldn't compliain about my '94 at all. And the numerous upgrades (electric fan, better interior, better exterior, 140 amp alt stock) that the 2001 will have make it a much better car than my '94. THey look awesome in silver, black and the rare (ish) metallic blue. White, meh.. give or take...

They drive smoothly, are easy to work on, to install in, and are RARING for any kind of upgrades you can think of, save for HP mods over 150 horse... In which you need diff connecting rods and crankshaft. You can tighten up the steering with a modified mustang bushing/shock kit, as some don't like the loose steering after they have been driving smaller cars.

The reasons why I would choose a Crown Vic over many other cars:

You look like a cop, so nobody messes with you.

Cheap to obtain.

You can fit retardedly large sub boxes in the trunk. Upwards of 8-10 cubes.

They have stock dual exhaust which sounds extremely awesome if straightpiped, given you leave the catalytic converters on. To much backfiring w/o.

140+ mph stock.

Well sound deadened (in the cabin) from the start.

A backseat "you can get laid in." Though I never tried mine out...

Double DIN stereo mounting hole for that nice graphic eq you've always dreamed of but never could fit.

Gobs of aftermarket made to fit cop gear that is friggin sweet and for the most part legal (cages to restrain people in backseat{

I'm sorry for the long post, but if I had the cash, this is what I would roll in. WITHOUT QUESTION. I know you prolly like Chevy... And want a small car, it sounds like, but all I can say is:

Crown Vics are the teh best.

I've driven a Vic - and although it would be great to stuff that thing full of radios, antennas, and a monster powerplant, my van has better handling than that thing does. I hated the unresponsive steering...but perhaps it was just that particular one I drove.

And?

Your point is?

If you can't beat em' join em!

I used to get tons of respect on the road even though I drove like an idiot.

I was the only person to not get pulled over on prom night.

The only thing i can complain about is the steering when trying to manuver in tight parking lots/u turns and the gas mileage after I got past 160k cause the compression went to hell.
