just because a sub says that it can take 1000w dosn't mean that it can sound better than one that takes 500w... just an example.. someone else here can explain it in more detail.

i just got two PHOENIX GOLD OCTANE R R10D for 85 shipped!

i don't know if they are garbage but that's pretty cheap.

They are some good entry level subs, without a doubt they souned better than the infinity references in every aspect, but they have had some tinsel lead problems with them. Maybe they are solved now, but I do remember haven some problems with that. You should have gottn the octane zrs which seem to be a much better version of the octane rs, and better built. O well you should like them. pm me and tell me what you think of them when you hear them.

In your case I would try to find a single used 12" or 15" sub for around $100.

A decent amp can be found either new or used for $150 - $200.

Box materials and wiring should cost you around $60

Trust me, spend more now so you wont have to lose money in the long run. My first system was 2 8" Legacy subs in a bandpass box with a 100 watt amp... it cost me like $180 with installation... wish I never had spent that money. If you spend around $300 or a little more now you can get a decent system and add on to it later if needed.

umm if u looking for somethign CHEAP and bump look into some RE resonant engineering subs 50$ of here each for 10's get 2 for 100$ shipped then build a box prob around 50$ to build one and then get a small amp with about 500watts for around 100$ or less depends what u wnat and then u will be set.

Thats a good idea, I've heard some resonant engineering subs and they arent half bad.

1000 or the 2000 series would be pretty nice! They are both pretty cheap too!
