Yet another Boston Pro60 question (noob)

I did a little searching but did not see this exact set up.

Boston Pro60's with an Alpine PDX-4.150

specs for Alpine amp :

CEA-2006 Power Rating (40hm@14.4V = 1%THD+N), S/N 78dBA (Ref. 1W into 4Ohm):

• 150W x 4

RMS Power (at 14.4V THD+N,20Hz-20kHz)

• Per channel into 2 ohms : 150W x 4 (

• Per channel into 4 ohms : 150W x 4 (

• Brigded 4 ohms: 300W x 2 (

If you know another good amp to run the Pros I am up to suggestions.

Dont want to spend more than $400.

Find a PG xenon 200.4(purchased) or Zapco 360.4(mine did 110/channel). Thats what I'm getting and it does more than its rated at. I have the same set up.

no, that PDX amp will absolutely ROCK the pro's. they rate them at 150x4 but most of them i've installed have said between 170-180 rms per channel on the test sheet that comes with it. those amps are absolutely killer, they make great power, and sound very, very good for the price. they got big brass balls the size of basketballs man. and the real nice thing about the pdx amps is the size... you can stick 'em anywhere and they are extremely efficient. don't get me wrong, they'll **** some current down, but they're very efficient at turning that into power, and not just wasted heat. i've had nothing but great experiences with the pdx amps, and i've put quite a few of them in.

if you wanna stick with boston, a GT42 would do 2 pairs of them well... that's a very solid and super clean and warm amp. only downside to it is it's size... the thing is a surfboard.

or a jl audio 450/4... 150x2 to the fronts and 75x2 to the reas would be perfectly fine... you want to emphasize the front stage anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I can't imagine you being dissapointed with your choices. It should sound awesome! I would love to hear something like that myself. Good choices.

You could do the PDX 2.150 and save a few bucks or use the other 4.150 channels to push some rear speakers. Or upgrade to the Z6s like I did, although I would wait until Boston replaces the Z6s (I hear it is in the pipeline). They are gonna improve the midbass from what I hear.

I heard the Pro's off the Alpine mrv545 amp and they sounded great off that amp as well.
