So i have the 9856, but it keeps restarting itself when volume is high. I did some experimenting and found out it does this because it vibrates so much. I took out the receiver from the dash and just held it in my hand, turned up the volume, it never restarted on me. When i say restart I mean, the HU completely shuts off, then turns on after a second... Anyone else have this problem? Or is there anything i can do to make the HU more secure and stable in the dash?

are you sure it isn't a loose wire? is the dash kit nice and tight? try some foam or some shims to keep it stable, but make sure it has room to breath or else it will overheat

You might have some voltage drop when yu turn the radio up high on the volume. Test with a meter that you're getting 12 volts when the car is on and step on the gas while you test for 12 volts and turn the volume up. You might have a bad constant or yo have something thats draining power.

My friend made a horrible attempt at putting a JVC deck in his boat, and it did this same thing due to vibrations. It would shut itself off, then reboot.

Backstrap that biach in there good, and be done with it!
