alright so im pretty much settled on one 12'' kicker L7...but i was just wondering if any one had anything to tell me about it before i get it (do they break easy, pound hard as hell, blah blah)...and i was also wondering what amp you guys suggest...thanks!!

i had 2 12" l7's sealed and they were loud as hell but they blew off of 1000watts each. i was pretty harsh on them though.

my boy has his L7 sealed with a bx1500 to one and he blew a hole in the middle, dont go over 1200w for daily.
lol either that or he needs to know how to listen to sub and know what it sounds like/smells like when it's stressed. Oh yeah tell him to stop seeing how high the sub will knock pens/pencils into the air as this leads to dust cap perforations...

I've been putting 2200 watts RMS (courtesy of 4 zapco 9.0s) to each one of my 4 L712s for the better part of 1 year, with them seeing at least 300-400 full power burps. Havent had one fail yet! Yes its also my daily driver.

i got 2 12" L7's (2002/2003 gunmetal versions) powered with only 500rms (bx500d). imo, its about enough for me. but im ugprading to the bx1000d as soon it arrives.

overall, great subs. gets very loud in my sealed box with 1cu ft. the SQ is still there, but its not alpine type-r SQ. i can only imagine how it will sound in a ported box

The tech at kicker said sealed enclosures are a no no. They will blow easier in a sealed enclosure. He is telling the truth. After the second blown L7 I built a ported enclosure for my friend, it hit hard, low, and tight. Its still going strong off of 1200 watts to 1 L7.

L7's blow like the wind with more than 1000 daily, just my opinion
And im telling you as a FACT that I have been running mine on 2200w rms daily on each. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Can they handle the power for very long? No. Have I blown eve one in over 14 months of quadding on them driving on the street? Nope! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

On a 47hz burp, each of my 4 12L7 d4 subs will see a REAL TIME 1900w RMS! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif And yes I've been known to listen to sine waves whilst driving, and my dB drag vehicle is also my daily driver. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They are tough subs IF you know what to look, listen, and smell for. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
