Yep, I'm back

I'm investing in 2x4 and battery stocks now
Actually, I'm not going to build my box out of 2x4's this time, haha. Steel cage and Baltic Birch. Polyester resin and fiberglass at seams. Baffle will be sealed to the front of the steel frame with silicone caulk so it's not a pain to swap, but is still reasonably air-tight.

Yay!!! You're back!!
Yep!!

Who are you?

I would recommend going to a 6 15s flat wall. I think you didn't have enough airspace to make use of all 8 of the 15s. Something like the black nasty with a driver side port would be nice.

Baffle flex will kill a basket every time. We've only had one other broken basket, and it was local. We tore into the wall and found that all the bracing behind that sub had come loose and the baffle was flexing a lot in that area.

I could try 6 15's flat wall.

Yeah, baffle flex was most likely the cause. I'm not super concerned about it. Just a couple cracks on the top spokes. I'm just going to JB weld them when I pull the subs. Nothing major, but I'm sure that drops their value to most people.

I plan to run the 8 Soundrive 15's in a home audio setup.

If it's just a stress crack and not a complete break it's not a big deal to repair it with JB weld. I think you'd be impressed with the results of 6 SDA3 15s in a flat wall even on less power. Our 4 18s flat wall on roughly 6k clamped was doing a 59 sealed on the dash, although it was built for the meter and high frequency demos.
