how many amps can be pulled from a yellowtop? Just trying to figure out how many batts to buy. I have searched the forum and saw an ewquation showing something an end figure of 3.5 amps for 20 hours,,,, I do not understand that crap. I need how many amps can I get from 2 yellowtops in parallel. HO alt com later,,, I mean is there a simple answer like you can get 50 amps each to be drawn from each battery for 30 minutes, I do not know please help trying to figure out how to run some high amps through my car

Go to optima's site, and look at the "Amp Hours" rating for the battery. Take the number of amp-hours, and either divide or multiply depending on the number of amps you're drawing. I think the rating on a yellowtop might be 55 Amp-Hours, but I'm not positive.

All you have to divide is the number of amps you're drawing by the number of amp-hours the battery can supply.

Example:

110 Amps for 30 minutes (110 Amps / 55 Ah = .5 Hours)

50 Amps for 54.5 minutes (50 Amps / 55 Ah = .909 Hours)

If the number is something really strange, for example, .909, just multiply it by 60 to find the number of minutes you can last.
