yee haw, im a southern redneck.

they are not as bad as you'd think. quite tasty actually.
I think the following says it all...

they might be, i'm just not into eating testicles........just my preference
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gif

I might like the taste, Mike - I cannot say with any certainty one way or the other. It's the mere idea of willingly putting any creatures testicles in my mouth, regardless of how they have been prepared, that I cannot see my way past. So, on this, I'll simply take your word for it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

well then we can agree to disagree. I personally hate everything about the area I am in, and its a "college town". But it doesnt even START to compare to where im from. People thing a bonfire in the woods is a big deal.
I've never spent any amount of time in H'burg. I've passed through there but that's the extent of it. I know what you mean about a college town, though, as I lived in Ruston once where Louisiana Tech is (which is immediately bordered by Grambling, LA where Grambling State U. is) and that's a whole different vibe than where I am. We've got several colleges here( Southern University @ Shreveport, LSU-S, Centenary College which is the oldest private university west of the Mississippi River, Bossier Parish Community College, blah blah blah) but it's not a "college town."

That's more or less how my dad got me to eat calimari (sp?) when I was 10 or so. You know, what 10 year old thinks eating squid is a good idea? Not too many of them.

He told me they were shrimp rings or something of the sort iirc I ate 'em and liked 'em. After that there wasn't much point in turning my nose up at them...

to summarize this town as quickly as possible, it can be said as this: Consumer Market.

There is absolutely NOTHING to do that isn't food oriented, and everything here is based around BUYING something.

Honestly, and don't take this personally, but I think that the main problem is that you are an *******.

Talkin about the southern dialect...
i went to Chicago once and people were actually asking me to repeat words when they fully understood me the first time.. Hotel lobbyist thought my accent was "just so cute!".. Hell, all I had to do was talk and people were staring. But for some reason as I have gotten older my southern dialect has shrunk. Shit gets old quick.

And people were just so rude in general.. Southern hospitality FTW!
I think Chicago is a great city. My experience was very positive. And I did not find the people to be rude in the least.

I've been to 48 of the 50 United States (never been to Maine and never been to Connecticut)

Oddly enough the absolutely rudest people I ran across anywhere in those 48 states were in Ohio?? Struck me as really odd as my best friend in the world hails from Columbus, Ohio, and he's a heckuva guy.

But the bastages I ran across in Cinci were bloody awful! Either the should have taken the prize as the rudest people in N. America or they simply hated people from Louisiana.

Either is as likely as the other, I suppose! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That would make since if the only people they had previously met from Louisiana were from St Bernard Parrish.

Yeah, Ive been up to DC a couple times and people up there are infactuated with the way southerners talk. And they do tend to be very rude. They'll knock into you or flat out just slam the door in your face without even thinking that some might be behind them.
Depends on what part of DC. Silver Spring maybe. Dutch Village. Even then you'll get along fine with people.
