If the coil is glued to rest at dead center of the gap, the cone will excurse a bit over 32 millimeters ( 1.26 inches) rearward before the cone rests on top of the spider.

The motor has an xmag value of 38mm + (1.5 inches+) Xmag is the distance one way, the coil can travel before the Bl drops to 71% of its rest value.

In this design.. the only limiting factor of excursion... is mechanically related...

So.. actual 'Xmax" on the XXX would be 64mm ( 2.52" inches)

this is not at all the biggest excursion on any woofer today. the eclipse titanium has a 3.5 inch Xmax.

nope.. it sure doesn't... not going by the Dumax machine anything.. it only xmag'd in the 20-24mm range.... not quite there... It does have a small xmech advantage though..

The different rests in what Fujitsu Ten claims is its xmax (1.75" one way) and what DUMAX has proven is its xmax.

don't argue with bigbassman on a subject like that you won't know more than he does about woofer's or at least not many on here do if any do. bbman what is the xmax on the DD subs mainly the 3515 and 9515??

I can tell you now that its Xmax is not 1.75" I own one and its more like 2.25" total once you exceed that it becomes distorted and will definitely put you in range of seriously damaging the VC.

the xmag on the 3515 is around 14mm or so

the 9515 would be good for around 19mm xmag wise

DD woofers are primiarly ported use only, so they have a reduced xmax value, with a ton of forward / rearward suspension travel. They are SPL drivers and model up as such.. so don't take much heed into the xmag values for em..

alrighty thanks for that info on them bigbassman.

Bassman's reveiew ios very complete and thourough. His review and Rangerman's are very similar and i don't think either review is better than tha other, beacuse they are pretty much tha same deal. just one had 2 drivers other had one. Also tha wattage differencial anyways, XXX looks Awsome by review although i have yet to ehar it.
