xxx question

i was wonder if a 10inch XXX would sound good inverted in a standard cab, im not lookin for it to be really really loud i just want somethin with some punch the box will be about 2cu ft probably sealed, and if it would be good do you know if RE is still going to make the oldstyle XXX when they bring the new ones out? i like subs to look over motored for some reason please give me some info on this

2 feet is too much for a 10" XXX. RE recommends like .7 cu ft per 10, and imo you really should go a bit bigger than RE tends to recommend for the XXX, but 2 feet is definitely too big. I cant model it out to find any enclosure alignments, as my WinISD seems to be hosed, but Im confident you would end up wanting a much smaller box than that. 2 feet is more suited for vented, and if you have that much room, I would consider porting the XXX. But either way it would get loud in a regular cab.

Nobody knows for sure if RE is keeping the old style XXX (rebadged) or not, at least nobody who is talking. I dont see the need for a big secret on an already existing model, but whatever.

You should look up Steven Kephart's personal install. He invert mounted a Brahma 10 (extremely similar to XXX) under his dash (not a pick-up however). It looked pretty sweet imo. My only concern with inverting a sub in a regular cab would be motor noise. But that wouldnt be a big issue to me in that situation anyway.

One thing I forgot to mention before though.... make sure you have a good alarm and security 'plan'. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif It will take any potential thief about .0003 seconds to realize you have a fairly extreme sound system in your truck just by walking past it in a parking lot. Your system will get alot of positive exposure with an inverted in-your-face sub install like that, but it will get some bad attention as well.

That is not at issue here. He clearly acknowledged he knows the xxx is not currently available in the very first post when he asked if the original xxx would be brought back.

i think im gonna do it, if i cant find a xxx here or ebay within the next 2 weeks or so i think im gonna go for somethin else, recomend somethin i thought about maybe gettin a RL-i 10
