XXX in a snailshell???

My 18" xxx is going into it. And BAMA, my previous box was something like that. I was told a snailshell will give higher output at a wider range of notes.

find the T/S for your subwoofer and model a box or have someone model it for you.

you will need to know the T/S and then you will ahve to put in filters at some places to make it flat.. otherwise puting your subwoofer in any box is like shooting at a small target in the dark.

been running my xxx15 in its snail shell for over a year now. loud as hell. great on the highs and great on the lows. louder and cleaner than the 4 cu. box tuned to 30hz i had it in, which was pretty solid. it has a lot more port area than my previous box.

by the way, this is in the trunk of my 98 accord. it barely fit through the opening. sounds great. pushed with a hifonics brutus 1500d at 1ohm.

hope that helps.

So does anyone know someone to build me one? Box size doesnt matter, I have like 10 cubes to work with, I wasthinking around 7.5 (give or take a foot). Tuned to about 32. Keep the comments and suggestions coming

Ok, someone just explain to me wtf a snailshell is...I just wanna know whether or not I want one. What do they do thats different from a normal ported box? Are they worth the extra money? Come on...
