XXX Crossover question.

im planning on getting XXX mids and the only problem is how to go about the crossover part...... if i buy a 4 channel amp with 2 active crossovers would this be enough? Or if i bought a seprate amp for the Tweets and the XXX's would this work? Plz help. Or maybe a passive crossover. im not looking to spend 100 bucks on a active crossover

Well, if you don't want to spend $100 on an active crossover, then you would need to either 1) Have a headunit with the necessary crossovers, 2) Buy an amp that allows for bandpassing and highpassing the tweeter at the correct frequency, or 3) Use a combination of different crossovers (HU/Amp/Fmods/etc), if they will allow the crossover points that you need.

are active crossovers easy to use........ ive never done anything like that...... would i be able to fiqure it out. And even if i do buy an active crossover....... what then....... do i still need 2 amps....... or 1 4 channel or what.

Yes, they are extremely easy to use, actually.

And you would need 4 channels of amplification....how you arrive there is up to you. Two 2-channels, 4 monoblocks, single 4-channel amp, whatever. Just as long as each channel has it's own input on the amplifier.

And does the crossover take 1 set of rcas? or will i need a HU with 3 preouts?

No more than 1 is needed, though some do allow for more inputs if you so chose. But you don't have to use more than 1 input.

My active crossover has 1 RCA input and 3 outputs. lows, midrange and highs.

Only place i know is on the forums. I just seen someone had 2 sets for sale yesterday. But you have to jump on them fast. Mine sold instantly

How about you try calling the phone number. RE usually doesnt respond to emails..at least not in a timely fashion.

Why is everyone afraid of the phone? It seems that if something cant be accomplished via email..people give up.

Yeah, the customer service is kind of sloppy like that.

You just have to keep calling, someone will answer eventually. They are helpful when you get ahold of them, though.

haha, yeah why? disappointed? i'd like to hear some feedback on what they perfrom like.

and to the previous post above: those 2 sets that were seen yesterday are sold. i know

coz i got one set. it was the last set he had. 1st set sold fast!
