XXV Thor went into protect

Your post is confusing? Are you saying you have a history of repairing amps or questioning my knowledge of how they work?
what is going to drain the power out of the caps in that 24 hours? There is little to nothing to drain the energy stored in the caps. The GP 3000d/Thor/MM3000.1 are all the same amp and ive owned 3 or 4 of them, and even had 1 go into hard protect on me, I believe I know a thing or 2 about trying to fix them.

Assuming he'd have the rest of the system powered up, it was understood the remote section would already have power input. I was suggesting to leave the fuse out for a good day. You simply replied with a smart mouth with the same thing I posted, other than your disagreement with the 24-hour time period.

I do have quite a bit of history, actually.

This sounds to me like uneducated babbling from someone who has no idea what they are talking about. So I would assume you are referring to your own knowledge when you refer to the forum lacking it:rolleyes:

It may sound like it, but I'm actually trying to e-thug as you can tell.

i just sold my XXV maxximus was paid in full

my friend installed it on 4 each IA DP 15"

he got about 30 seconds out of and it blew

he did not measure his voice coils prior to install and each voice coil was .25 less than rated

Ty lilmaniac and everyone else who gave me tips, as I will try that and hope it works. Also my subs were wired at one ohm, with a dmm 1.7. Also the amp probably lasted about a week, week and a half.

and what exactly is goign to reset?
will 23 hours work? how about 20?

heres what you do, remove the fuse, turn the amp on ( ie give power to the remote )

it will drain the capacitors and in essence "reset" the protection circuit.

Good luck, I've never had an amp come back out of protect when it went hard protect
Ok, so remove the fuse, keep power and ground wires in? Which wires do I disconnect to give power to the remote wire?

Disconnect the ground, leave the power wire and the remote wire in, turn the car on like normal like your going to listen to it, the amp should light up fora split second, if there is any juice left in it, then it will turn off.

After that hook the ground back up.

You need to learn to type in plain english. Your quizzical reply's don't help the situation and to be honest I don't think anyone clearly understands what you mean.

My smart mouth reply as you call it was a question. Tell me what is gonna drain the caps inside of an amp, if the remote section of the amp has no voltage giving no pathway for the caps to drain
