"just an MTX amp in a chrome housing. You don't want xtant with the letter first. 604x is good. x604 is bad"

@keep_hope_alive ;

I quoted that from him.

The 604 is a very nice amp. As far as $$$, I would guess inthe $200-ish range?

I just recently scored 2 2200xi's and a 1001xd. All in excellent condition with the 2200's having the upgraded XO modules installed.

Do yours have any of the add-on modules?

I have herd this as well...

i dont know if i do or not. if you mean the Xover cards the 604 has a 12db lo pass one. the 2002 isnt open and doesnt look like it ever has. MTX from the late 90s is still **** nice amps.

Hmm...

The hi/lo cards in mine are a 24db...

That will help with the value.

There is a 604 on the bay now for $200.

xtant was purchased by MTX in the early 2000's. the letter moved from the end to the front. the specs fell to the same as what MTX was doing. they are not worth near as much because they are noisier with less power and cheaper overall parts. it was a way for MTX to make money (considering the original xtant's sold for around a grand in 1999. even though MTX made them cheaper and lower quality, they kept the same premium price tag.

price them the same as you would a comparable MTX.

Here are the 3 that I scored locally......got a GREAT deal for the 3:naughty:

Agree! I remember these amps from when i was a kid! They were prob one of the best. I always wanted one but were soo damned expensive! I finally got one years later, if I remember right, 3001a? Its the 300 rms @2 ohm. Hooked a kicker L3 to it. Sounded pretty decent but the louder I turned up the volumn the bass would cut out.. Getting repaired now and will be keeping it for collection!
