xs power VCM ?

Just wondering who uses one and if you notice a difference. I have one on a DC 270XP alt which has a setpoint of 15.1 volts. The VCM is set to not go over 15.2. If the alt by itself has a setpoint that high what good does the VCM do?

It does no good if your alternator already charges that high and you are running 12v batts. Now if you wanted to go to 14v batts they should be charged around 16.xx v. Then the VCM would come into play and you would change the charging voltage of your alt with the VCM.
