Thought you guys might be interested in this, seems interesting to me. I wonder what they are going to do with the service, and the people that are already subscribed? I may be missing something, but wouldn't this form a monopoly?

When I bought my car it came with an Alpine Xm unit in it with the service still working!

And about the Monopoly thing. The whole debate is whether "free FM" is considered a rival against Sat radio. If it is, then it will not be a monopoly.

That is the topic of debate. I put it like this. If you do not have a radio in your car, you can;

A) Go out buy a radio and hook up the antenna to use free fm

Or

B)Pay for a Sat service

Seems to me there is a choice for the consumer to choose from. Therefore,Sat couldn't exactly do what they wanted to...For instance charging $100 a month because everyone will say shove it and use the free radio instead.

i love xm also..i work at at GM dealership..and whenever i get a new car i usually keep it in tha back shop all day so i can keep the xm going...not too sure bout sirius
