Yes, I know how to solder, and I figure it's only a $20 Xbox, and a $20 (Around) chip, so I'd be losing out on MAYBE $40 if I **** something up. I'm just having a difficult time finding a good enough guide to go by so I can understand it.

Question, you have Xbox Media Center, correct? Can it play .AVI files? That's what it seems like in that videos, as the files are fairly small. I have a 250GB hard drive that I just got and several more 80-500Gb drives that I could use. I just want a media center that I can link with my computers, and HT setup.

I've been there SEVERAL times in the past few days, and I have yet to find a good guide to go by.

funny, cause their are like atleast 15 guides on how to everything. If you cant read those guides you are prolly not gonna be able to do this mod.

I have read them, just they do not seem to have the tutorial I want. I want to make mine a Media Center, and not just an Xbox that can play burned games. I know that I need to have Mech Assault and the file save exploit, and Action replay, and all that crap. I just don't understand how to connect to the Xbox so I can FTP the files into the Xbox that are needing to install XBMC.

You gotta change the bios so you can start up a FTP server on the xbox side. Usually when you have a modchip, you can just boot into your modchip bios and turn on the FTP server and transfer over dashboard files when you first start out. Never did the softmod stuff so I cant help you with that. Try posting on the forums, those people know what their talking about.

Use Action replay to put the exploit on the card, and then load up MchAssault/007 and load the software of choice, and then with the new dashboard/bios, FTP the rest of the files that are needed into the drive, and reboot the Xbox, and it should work?

you need slayers, you do the exploit run slayers and it auto installs evox then you run evox and it allows you to ftp directly
