xbox 360 harddrive error

My friends harddrive is messed up on his 360. Its flashing the red light or w/e it does. Im thinkin about buying it from him. How much does it cost to fix the harddrive? Its not even a year old but he bought it from fingerhut so i dont know if it came with a warranty. But in general how much would it cost to fix?

I believe it is like $100 from MS. Figure they go for about $250 working I would say $100 would be a good price for a premium setup with the 1 controller etc.. ok. He has 2 or 3 games. saints row for 1 i know. Then he has all the burger king games because he use to work there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif and he has 2 controllers

yea i know lol. I wonder how hard it would be to switch hard drives? im looking for one on ebay to see how much they are.

its not hard to switch hard drives. It just pops off the side. If it is the red ring of death, the problem most likely isnt the drive, its something internal. Hard drives you can swap yourself if it is the problem.

you MIGHT be able to get it fixed thru MS. They extended the warranty to 3 years because of all the problems xbox's are having. Give them a call and give them a description of the problem and see what they say.

Chances are, fingerhut doesnt give warranties unless one was bought. If its less than three years old, MS might fix it for you.
