so the only difference is the color, the HDMI (which, without going to 1080p is not a neccisary upgrade, makes it easier to connect, but serves no actual function...), and the hard drive?
seems to me like they would AT LEAST have put the HD DVD drive internally, and then made use of the added HDMI cable upgrade. then they could also start using a higher resolution format for their games to be able to keep up with the PS3 whenever sony decides to tap into its 1080p capabilities.

i do find this interesting though... sony has 1080p capabilities, but has no way to output into 1080p (limiting it to 1080i). and meanwhile, microsoft is putting output capabilities up to 1080p, but limiting its processing to 1080i :lol:

not from what i understand. it has processing capabilities to process a 1080P format, but internally it has no output for that resolution. the highest it is capable of outputing is 1080i, no matter what connection is used.

there is somewhat of a plan for the future to be able to add on for 1080p output, but currently, it is not able to do so. this also means that as a bluray player, it is not able to output the same resolution of a dedicated bluray player.

another thing to keep in mind about this though, for both systems... to the ***** eye, without having a side by side comparison, you will not notice the difference between 1080i and 1080p.

my thoughts exactly. if this was an attempt to try to better the ps3, it was a lame effort... might make the less informed think its something special though. for everyone else, probably cheaper to paint your 360 black, or buy a different case. and maybe play less video games if you need 120 gigs of storage...

Yea so eventually it will make the Premium 360 which is 400 dollars come with a 120 gb hd and hdmi. I dont get why everyone is all excited about this just because it is black?

I'll just buy the attachment HDD that will most likely be released later on, buy a case skin, and enjoy it. I don't plan on connecting with HDMI, so it doesn't matter to me.

you can wait a few months and save yourself some money for a white with all the extras. how often do you stare at your xbox anyway, it's game system not a decoration

But if u buy the 400 dollar version of halo 3 you get the goofy helmet that will just sit in your closet and take up space
