anyone have a tutorial online on how to fix the xbox 360 without having to send it in..i wana know if its something easy i can do myself..im getting the 3 red lights

X2 they just extended all warranties from 1 to 3 years. they pay shipping plus repairs just gotta let them know and they will send you a box to ship it in.

well i screwed myself over..all i did was remove the front face plate and put it back on and i had it sent back from MS saying it shows signs of being tampered so it voids warranty which is why i want to see if i can fix it myself

When you call 18004myxbox it comes up with an automated thing. Max is its name i believe. He goes through something like unplugging the xbox, taking off the HD, plugging the xbox back in, and turning it on. Then it says to put the HD back on? And i call BS on them saying that it shows signs of being tampered with. They tell you to take off the faceplate when you send it in. I would know because i just got mine back like 3-4 days ago, and its still messed up. Why does xbox makes custom faceplates if they are going to consider it tampereing? Thats not tampering... And yes, I'm pretty sure you screwed yourself in whatever you did because they track the xboxs with the serial number. So when you told them what it was when you sent it in they marked it as tampered. The 3 red lights is either a serious internal problem, or your power supply has failed.

No, its not. maybe you meant the power cable? Either way, if it were a disconnected cable it would have a different red light code.

No its not, 4 red rings is a disconnected cable. If my xbox would work i would show you. It wont even power up.

yeah but when i was having the red lights i got a code on the screen...i was getting 3 red lights with this error code

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
