whats the reason for usin external xovers on a comp set if u got a nice amo that has high and low pass for each set of speakers

i got a treo ssx 75.4

and i set a high pass for the front and then a low and high pass for the rear

so i dont realy need crossovers that came with the comp set do i?

You still have to divide the frequencies between the mid and tweet. If you have a dedicated amp channel for each driver in the set, ie a 4 channel amp for a single component set, and crossovers that can cover the freq range that you need (2000-5000 hz depending on the speakers) then you can wire each tweet and each mid to their own channel and run an active setup. In that case you don't need the passives that came with the comps. If you're planning on doing front and rear components off a single 4 channel amp and you want fader control, you'll need the passives.

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...

Nothing to add to this, Just wanted to say good luck and that I miss MiniDisc. OH!! Is that a Japanese Radio Tuner or does it get stations in the US?
