I would like to trade my grey cone 15l7d4 for a 15l7d2.

Its in great shape still only ran of 750rms @2ohms for like a month in a sealed box.

Other sub/subs considered.My amp does 1500rms @1ohm and 750 rms@2ohms

so sub or subs must work wit that.

What amp do you have that does 1500 watts? I have an 06 15" L7 D2 and have run it off a 12.1. Loved every minute of it. Personally, I wouldn't go past 1400 watts, but you probably won't see 1500 watts anyways with all the factors. Just set the gains accordingly
