wtf

no car is not driveable the tire folded under and the axle pulled out of the trany lower ball joint poped right out of the holder. 40 dollars i wish. the parts alone are more then 40 plus an aliment is atleast 80 but 40 is a nice dream it will keep me all warm and fuzzy inside thanks
more then 225 but less then 400. does that help?

haha, on a 2006? wow...my toyota trucks bj havn't been replaced in like 6 years (before that i have no idea)
i have never ever had to replace a ball joint before in any of my cars i ever had. this is my first in 17 years of owning cars

i dont care how much it cost really its not like its an oil change. this is my stearing and supension system i want it done right. my wife and kids ride in it its got to be safe. guy told me 250 350 the highest of the top of his head over the phone guy as worked on the car before. said i should have it by tomorrow.

for the tow truck driver dudes need a crash crose on how to get a car on the truck took them a hour and 45 mins to get it on the truck. in the end i had to suggust they use a jack under the car hook up the winch pull the car useing the jack. i.e everytime the driver tryed to pull it, the tire just folded under. AAA need to check there tow truck companys before they send them out two guys showed up and either one of them knew what to do. they had no go jack either. my day went from great to shyt but good news the new box is loud my ears hurt for the first time ever

yes it did help i know my guy ant chargeing me to much every one says about the same expet for the 40 dollars that would be nice

225 400 thats a whole lot of better stuff i could get with that money

best bet is go to rockauto.com and order the parts and take em to a dealer. I would advise getting both sides done just for precautionary measures considering you have kids. I would replace both upper and lower ball joints and control arms if you plan on keeping that car for a while. ITs an easy diy job but time consuming. Always make sure you grease your fittings.

yea you think doing everything is the best bet. i never would have thought about upper bj too i cant do it myself i dont have the tools and i am on the side of a busy street

wow, i love being able to work on my own cars...i have owned many cars, and have never ever brought one of them to a shop for ANY reason
yea, i wish i had the place and tools to do that. is it nomal that when a lower ball joint pops out of place the axles comes out of the trany the boot was ripped and the unaversal joint i was looking at it, also when i moved the tire when the axle was jamed in between the muffer and the trany the whole engine shook. i wasent going fast barely moving when it happend the axle popping out is what has me concend

a lower ball joint shouldnt just "break"...unless something was hit with the tire. usually they go bad and the car shakes real bad and all that jazz.
never had that shake at all it made and awful nosie when i truned the wheel like a sweek grind kinda it wasent that nice of a noise it went on for about 6 months i was told it was a dry bushing or a dry ball joint. the nosie would completely stop after spraying all the bushing and joints with silcone spary but would come back after a day or two when you jacked the car up all the tie rods and ball joints seemed ok the tire never shook or anything. i hit a pot hole bout 5 months ago and blew a bubble in the tire but thats it was just turning the wheel about to pull up to a gas pump
