i am not gonna quote that long *** post, but on the harelys, yes i will agree a lot of decent people own bikes, but by me just as many ******* own them and leave the bars at 2am, jump on it on the side streets and drive like assholes, heres the kicker the cops sit straight across the street from the bar in one of them crappy hose off carwashes, i have seen numerious cars get pulled over leaven for all different reason, and have never seen a bike get nipped, even when they pull out and jump on it. now that just pure bullsh*t.

exactly you can muffle the sounds of a system by deadening, moderate volumes and windows up, you can't do ish to a harley or exhaust on a car, and i know most of the people take the baffleing outta there pipes on bikes to make them louder, but theres nothing done about that

bottom line is there are douche bags and tools who will always abuse what they have, rather it be a harley, a db drag setup, an exhaust or even power.... the only person you can be responsible for is yourself...

I still catch ridicule from my parents for this... and they even know this is how I support my family....

Here is how I look at it, i rather hear a kids stereo at 3 in the morning, than hear the multiple ambulances, fire trucks,and police cars that go to the scene of his wreck when he lost control of his ride because he is way too drunk or stoned and looses it.... The kids can and will spend money on worse stuff than car audio. Drugs/alcohol dont go hand in hand with car audio.

couple of notes that I want to touch on.....

I totally agree with everything you say, but it still missed the point I was trying to make. Yes there are activists trying to get rid of gun's alltogether but they don't blame gun owners for all the problems and say that everyone who owns a gun is going to kill someone... they still put the blame on the criminals who use them wrongly.

these people are saying that about us. They are lumping everyone in car audio up into this nice little conveinent ball for them. Saying that any car audio enthusiast is a criminal and will do the things that they are saying when the fact of the matter is... a lot of us don't. Linking car audio to things like gang activity and terrorism and the such when it is such a large hobby now that of course there is going to be some overlap. But it is not the cause of these things it is just a coincidence. If every gang member all over the world wore a specific type of hat would they say that hat was the cause of all the gang activity in the world? Of course not thats just stupid... well so is this. They are overexagerating points (like that we drive around listening to test cd's all day) and twisting words of ours around to make us sound sick or demented when a lot of us are healty well respected and rounded individuals who just enjoy a hobby. Much like I am sure the people writing this stuff do as well.

yes there are laws, and yes maybe they need to be enforced better but what these people are doing is plain discrimination. I get ridicule by my family for my hobby but that is just because they don't understand it. that doesn't bother me. But these people lumping me up with a bunch of morons does bother me.

What people don't understand scares them. And these people obviously don't understand the hobby.

I have a loud stereo. I have a loud exaust on my car (bought my car specifically for the V8 for this reason). I love it and I will never give it up. I have only ever had one complaint and never have had any tickets because I am smart about it.

yeah I notice all the websites on this topic seem to last been updated back in 2003 or 2004. Hence why I am not goign to think about it anymore.
