This seriously makes me mad.

Like sure some (and I mean some) of what they say is true. But that only applies to a handful of the people out there with car stereo's.

What about the people who do it as a hobby and just enjoy loud high SQ music?

They describe it as if we drive around playing test tone CD's all day. Those are meant for testing/tuneing/competition. These people are so blind it is making me sick. I certainly hope that no real action comes of these ill conceived alligations against the entire car audio community as it is just wrong on so many levels that they woudl be commiting the crimes that they are wrongfully accusing on us as a community as a whole.

Guns kill people. I don't seem them trying to get rid of guns or shun anyone who has one. Seriously...

i just hate how everyone bashes on stereos and not a **** thing is done about the kid in his ricer rippen down teh street at 2:30 am with a giant fart can on the back, or the guy that fires his harley up and lets it idle to warm up for 5 mins at 6am

Exactly... or any other big noise maker out there.

I just hate how they throw me in this generalized group that just because I own a big stereo I am going to go bumping it at 2:30 in the morning in some off residential area. Or that if someone is going to come ask me to turn it down that I am going to be rude to them... !@#$ that! If I recall correctly that is considered discrimination...

Because they are throwing us into the same group as the ones who do those things. In many places on that website they lump everyone up who has a car stereo as a criminal. They portray it as if anyone with a big stereo is going to have a gun and shoot you if you confront them. and it goes on like that.

I do not appreciate them trying to portray me a car audio enthusiast as some gangsta or criminal. It is discriminatory. The only thing stopping me from taking some action against this is these sites dont' seem to have been updated for a few years.

couple of notes that I want to touch on.....

some one mentioned that no one is trying to ban guns ....um..wrong... there a thousands of people lobbying to ban weapons... there thought is if no one had weapons the criminals wouldn't have access to them, theif flaw in that argument is take them away from everyone and the only ones WITH guns will be the CRIMINALS....

Someone mentioned the topic of Harley's and "ricers".... I have seen plenty of kids get noise tickets for thier exhaust being too loud....

I have never seen or even heard of that matter, a Harley owner getting a ticket....you want to know why? Because most of the people who own a Harley.... VOTE..... or are involved in planning of the community ... Now I am not saying EVERYONE who owns a Harley is active in politics or city council, but with money comes freedom and power. But it makes sense doesn't it... who is the police going to ticket, the 16 year old kid with the stereo or the 45 year old lawyer on the harley??

If you dont like your city's ordinances become active in your community and do something about it. Use your system like you have a brain. Yes it is your right you have a loud system and to enjoy it, but I know I personally want to hear your jay-z remix cd at 3 in the morning after I finally got my sick daughter to go to sleep... make sense?

And to shed some light about me, I am a co-owner of a shop, head installer for past 10years, competitor and judge... I love Car Audio...but there is a time and a place for everything!!! But like I said earlier, when my daughter was an infant I would get sooo mad when someone would drive by and wake her up with their loud music. That website is taking it a little too far... someone might ought to remind them, that even if they drive 1mph over the speed limit that, that too is breaking the law.... anyways...

We should treat others like we want to be treated... last thing anyone wants to hear when they are trying to get some rest/sleep (espescially when sick) is someone just hammering their stuff as they drive by.....

Now I am not saying everyone needs to compete to enjoy car audio, or that it is best only done here or there, just you some common sense..

Noise ordinances are only going to get tougher......
