Heres my setup to start off i have two amps jl 4300 and a directed amp for the subs wired on an amp rack next to each other powering my 10s. I have Infinity crossovers in all door pannel and the amps and Avic-n1 are grounded to my seat belt. I had them grounded to a bolt where my factor amps where when i removed them, then during a launch it all came disconnected and since then i am getting a ton of engine noise i have tried new grounds new rcas new cd player running wires diffrent. When i hit the brake i can hear it over speakers when i turn wipers on i hear it. It all worked fine until that bolt that held my grounds down broke since then im getting a ton of noise. Is it possible a diode could be bad on my alt. I got a new battery and it didnt do a thing. I am running out of options. I have mtx 0 noise rcas. I even grounded to the battery and still noise.

one other thing i think when the amp rack fell of the rca termonils might have slid into my power dist block could that possible blow a ground trace in the deck or burn up the rcas? I hooked another cd player up and i had the same thing

I was told that rca"s are touchy. If the rca touched ground then it sounds like the head unit is the source of the noise. Is it possible to swap H/U and see if it goes away?

i switched head units and the same thing. I am goign to put the unit and processor in the trunk and run the rcas froem the back or the deck right into the amp to eleminate the rcas so i can atleast single them out and then if i have noise its gotta be ground but i have honestly grounded everywhere. I just dont understand the ground was perfect at one time and now its not?? what the hell

Lots of things but try these two: swap rca cables with new ones and make sure all your ground wires are short and secured tightly. make sure your ground wires from the amps are at different points of the chasis. Did you ground both amps to the same bolt or screw? Make sure they're at leat 1 inch apart.

If all else fails and you still cannot get rid of the noise try this... I know its going to sound crazy, but trust me.. I did it once and now I'm a believer.

The car itself may contain a static electricity buzz that does not simply go away over time. What you need to do is securly fasten the thickest piece of cable you can find to the frame of the car. Then secure the other piece to a metal stake (preferably a copper one). Drive that stake into the gound as far as you can and let it sit overnight.

This is called "grounding your car". The static has no where to go because the car rides on rubber (a commonly known electrical insulator). By attaching the wire to the frame and then to the stake in the ground, you effectivly "ground" your vehicle.. and the static drains away.

Good idea, wonder if it really works, have to find a car with some static electricity to find out. Id try it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

right now i have both amps grounded to the seat belt bolt in the back. I am going to take everything out and just work with my jl 4 chan and see if i cant get rid of it. I might have to try the grounding thing was weird as it sounds haha what would cause static to enter and can i test it with a meter or something.

grounding both amps to the same ground causes noises //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Nope. Same ground potential...

Try grounding to something other than the seat belt bolt. Have a DMM? Check the resistance of your ground.

okay it has to be a ground problem if i am correct. With the car on acc i can tap the break and my speakers pop? Sound like a bad ground
