WTB/WTTF : Deadener!

Dude, have you looked into peel and seel from lowes? I got a roll for $15 that I used in my doors. It's asphalt based, but AFAIK it provides the same result.
In before the real jerks respond: Peel n Seal is not at all the same nor will it give the same results as a metal-backed butyl-based vibration damping product.
In short, it ain't a good buy.

^ This. There are tons of threads here that have the science behind why deadener works and peel and seal does not.

Fair enough. I use it and notice a difference compared to when I wasn't using it. The door is less resonant and the bass on my comps is punchier. So, while it may not be as effective as the real deal, it works better than nothing.

Yeah don't use peal and seal.....

Back in 05 when i just bought my trailblazer brand new, i bought some eDead (i dont know if they still make that stuff) Then a after a few hot days in Austin, Tx, that stuff came off and got stuck behind my window. It smell like tar and had a yellowish tint...

It took me about 6 hours taking that stuff off from the window and my doors.... Luckily i only did the front doors.....

That *****. I was a bit weary of that when I initially put it on but the smell didn't dissipate through the cabin. What did you use to get it off?

Roll of b-stock 60mil from audiotechnix.com will run you around $58 shipped. I got a roll on the way in right now, will be posting up a review once I get it installed...
Good call--not much more than the peel and seal and if there's no chance of it to smell, then it's a great alternative.
