wtb: what amp to buy

oh mylows im not sure what you mean about the seat moving up and down it does slide forward and back if thats what you were meaning and im not sure what you meant about the subs and i really want to stay with the 2 12s idea but idk if i want a ported ive always had sealed and im 17 with no job ill start my job may 4th and ill only be working 2 days a week for a while and i might get a batt and alt im not sure and the friday that just passes i was locked up so imma have a few fines to pay so ill be a little tight on money for a little while

yes the seat moving forward and back ,they should move independently ,so if you do a box with sub behind the pass seat then you wont have a mounting depth issue ,and you can run a better sub than what you have now. and make a small amp area to mount the amp behind the drivers seat .port the box facing drivers side ,if done right it will be louder than your 2 12's you have in a sealed box now ,and will take more power as well

send me a pm with a budget for the amp sub and box with wires and i'll see what i can work up for you

2000 watts seems a little overkill for those subs. It doesnt sound like you upgrading cuz of space. You can find a 1000 watt amp for around 250 then put the other 250 towards something else like deadening or a used alt or a top notch enclosure.

i build all my boxes and throwing around 900 watts to them i dont think thats overkill

If you have the 3rd gen sws12 they are 300w rms if you have the 4th gen sws12 there 500w rms. I have overpowered woofers before not 400watts though and certainly not 600 watts. It's your money and your gear you asked for input that's the Main thing that jumps out at me if you overpower your subs by 600 watts apiece you may be shopping for new subs.

mine are the 500 rms 1500 max after my voltage drop im guessing around 900 each but im prolly gonna sell them and buy 2 imperium des 12s

you don't NEED that much power to make a set of S-types perform... A good solid 1K is plenty, I've seen a lot less really push those subs hard... A QUALITY 2k+ amp will destroy those subs...

well im gonna sell them anyway and not use them so i still need a amp but now i want one in the 3k range really liking the planet audio bb 2400 for a budget amp

How much will that run you? I personally would spend a little more and get an AQ 2200, or an AB amp... it will last longer and out perform that planet audio all day every day...

The alpines are good subs. If you bought a quality 1000 watt amp built a box to spec with how small the cab of that truck is you would be surprised how loud it will be. Somebody else touched on this but Chevy charging systems are pitiful. You will never see 2000 watts out of an amp unless you upgrade your alt and battery. For 500 bucks you could find a used zed Minotaur or a jl audio 1000/1v2 both of those are gonna sound better than any 2000 watt amp you find for the same price.

the planet audio bb 2400 will run me 250 but i do like the aq/sq 2200 also looking into the crecsendo 2k i have a thing with how my stuff looks i love how the bb looks just looks cool and i do know that has nothing to do with how it runs but i also cant stand how ab amps look
