WTB : sub shipping stuff....

I possibly want to buy the shipping stuff or even everything someone has gotten when they recieved there subwoofer in the mail. its so i can ship my 12" RE HC. i want to buy this locally. thanks. sorry if i dont make sense, dont know how to explain it.
do you have that on craigslist with a ported box and a bad carpeting job?

get expanding foam or whatever its called, ascendant audio uses it. you put it in the box and it hardens to the shape of the magnet and the basket, then just cover the cone with styrofoam or soemthing and your golden.

^great idea... i'd throw the moofer in a bag though.

what i do when shipping is use the original packing materials or build a crate...

all you need is some plywood and some 2x4's... then throw in packing peanuts and its almost impossible to hurt that sub...

crates FTW!

where could i buy something like this? home depot or something like that?

instead of doing that, i was thinkin of making a circle cardboard piece that would hold up the sub, and another that would hold the sub in place. and then pack it with a bunch of packing peanuts.

thats how my RE sub came, its only good for lightweight subs though, nothing heavy

yea, thats how my old earthquake subs came. but dont know if it would work with my HC since it wieghs 50 or so lbs. but i was going to add more cardboard for bracing and put styrafoam under the magnet and over the surround and stuff.

Dont use that for shipping

Yes. use it for shipping.

A crate is more likely to break during rough handling. Most of the time they're just too **** ridgid to handle being tossed around? And they end up breaking, and potentially hurting the sub even more.At least the expanding foam has some give.

Something to the exact size of the item you're shipping ftw!

Crates FTMFL!
