I would spend the $$$ if I were you and just get something decent.

I know beltronics and escort both make some decent radars for a reasonable amount of dough. Not cheap but also not ridiculously priced.

Best thing to do is either not speed or hope you are a lucky son of a ***** like me lol. Of course you can only get lucky so many times.

My girl lives about 70 miles from me to go to school and work. One day I was on the parkway coming from her house and trying to get to work, so I was running about 100~ and the speed limit was 70. Next thing I know I get passed by a dodge nitro. so I figured I would just speed up to him and follow him for a while so if my detector went off I would slow down and let him take the blame. So we are running 105 or 110 for about 10 miles, next thing I know his tail lights start flashing, so i was like wtf? then I see blue lights start flashing so I was ****ing freaking out cuz I had a 9mm loaded in the glove box. Then he pulls over to help another state trooper that had someone pulled over. I see him jump back in his vehicle and I thought he was coming after me so I was trying to take the gun apart and separate it all while he is coming up behind me, as soon as I got it all done he and the other state trooper just went on past me. I have never been so scared in my life! He didn't have any gov. plates or anything, just regular plates :weird:

thats cool, I have gotten pulled over 5 times in 8 months maybe. 6 were warnings, the other 2 tickets.

I have only been pulled over once and that was because my car somewhat matched the description of a vehicle leaving the scene of a robbery, but once he got behind me noticed I had expired tags. Just gave me a warning. I have been lucky so far. *Knocks on wood*

ive never owned one, but have some friends with them. the best one ive seen so far is a Passport 8500 or 9500 i believe.. tells you how many radars it picks up, what kind of radar it is, i think there is like 4 different kinds of signals it picks up. he said he used to have a cobra and still got 1 or 2 tickets. he's never had a ticket with this Passport. he paid $400 for and said he NEVER regrets it lol...
