Looking for a starter set of amps to use for my wifes car. Need a low wattage four channel (about 25-50W RMS per channel @ 4ohms). Also need a matching (women) mono amp (about 200-400W RMS @ 2ohms).

This will be her first real system, so I don't want anything spectacular for her. Just something nice and cheap, used/refurbed preferred.

i have a volfenhag 1000 watt 2 channel amp (its really around 400 watts) for sub and there 4 channel amps are cheap so you can match it easy. plus this amp has built in neons that glow blue and look like waters going thourgh them! its a pretty good entry level. works perfect but has some slight comesmetic damage but it still looks cool. il let you have it for 75 shipped

Have you thought about a 5 or 6 channel amp for her system. There are plenty out there that will provide the power you are looking for and be a simple clean install. Just a thought. If you happen across a Phoenix Gold ZX series for your sub I have a ZX450 that I can sell ya to go with it. It is 75x4 @ 4ohms.

I've been thinking about a 5 channel amp. I found a few decent ones but none used/refurbed and out of my budget. The ZX you have may be a place to start. I've never been a big fan of PG, but at least it's better than most retail junk out there.

I have seen some old school Soundstream and PPI multi channels go for some pretty good prices on Ebay lately. What are you lookin to spend. I had never been interested in PG myself but got a good deal on a closeout from a local dealer that I have a good relationship with. Had it on a pair of comps and a couple of 10's in a regular cab for years with never a hint of a problem with it. No one believed a single 75x4 was runnin my system.

If I can get away with it, $200 max. I have all the wires and RCAs I'll ever need so I've got the expensive part out of the way. LOL

Good luck on selling the volfenhag rock... you may be better off auctioning it off to the highest bidder with no reserve.

I just looked, there are a few old Soundstream amps that are closeing in the next couple of days that are in the 200-300 dollar range. couple of them look pretty sweet. Ikesound has some good deals on a few also. I have never bought from them so I don't know what they are like to deal with. I have read good and bad as with most online bargain shops.
