looking for something that does the highs well. not really concerned about the lows too much. as for budget... I'm not really sure what a quality set goes for, and I'm not on a computer so its difficult to look up prices. so I'd say up to around $150

Quality components are typically pretty expensive, man. If you want a really nice set, it's going to cost you more than $150. I bought a used pair of SR6500's about a year ago that weren't in the greatest condition, and I still paid more than $150...quite a bit more actually.

I'd get a Crescendo or Lanzar Optidrive set. Maybe Cadence. All supposedly great budget sets that I have been wanting to try, and all in your price range brand new.

I paid $80 shipped for my 355cs'.

The very few "reviews" I've read for the Crescendo comps basically say they're decent for $100. I really don't know what that's supposed to mean exactly. What does $100 sound like?

Dude would be happier if he puts back a little more cash and buys something worthwhile. That's all I'm trying to say.

Misfit, I lurked your WTB thread about the Hifonics amp, and the one I have is different that the picture you posted in it... so idk if my amp is what you want...

As for the comps, I don't need top o' the line stuff...just a set that will put out the highs well enough to play the music so it is audible with the bass hitting. I finally got on a computer and looked through first few pages of classifieds and came across a set of Infinity Perfects used - $110 and Shok Industries new - $105... The Infinity's are a pretty expensive set, so $110 seems like a good price, but I've read mixed reviews. What ya guys think?

Could I just get a set of tweeters and run the coaxials? Or would that be stupid...

Have you looked at the Image Dynamics CTX65cs? They're really nice components, and they're under $200.
