Wtb: 6.5" comps

Definitely not what I'm looking for, man.
Haha... if you're not looking for this one, does it mean it's a p.o.s? lol.. It does 110 X 2, and I got it for cheap as a refurb. Will 110 watts to the front stage be enough power for what I'm looking for sound wise? My sub amp is 1000 watts.

Sorry if this thread is taking a different direction lol.. but I'M STILL LOOKING FOR YOUR COMP SETS. PLEASE POST!

Ahh I gotcha... Regardless of the comps I decide on, how many watts would you say would be adequate for my application? If it's dependent on which speakers, let's say the Image Dynamics.
You can never have too much clean power. You have 100 watts, give or take a few, per side. Unless you're going to buy a new amp, that's not going to change.

Do the best you can with the equipment you have and upgrade when you get the money. That's the nature of the hobby, man. Welcome to it. You should consider sealing & deadening your doors (if you haven't already done so)...

Thanks for the advice man. I know the wattage isn't gonna change unless I get a different amp, that's why I'm asking- should I get a different amp? As for sticking with equipment, I think it'd be better to get the equipment that I really want than set up something that isn't gonna be up to par with my ideal sound system. I bought those type Rs I said I would consider trading, and later decided that I really wanted an 18"... so instead of just keeping the Rs, I decided to get an 18" ....which is currently being shipped to me.

I have the money right now to upgrade, so I say why not? In the long run, I know it's ultimately up to me though.

there should be a sticky thread on this topic. i haven't been a member long, but i've asked, and seen it asked enough, to say that'd be a good idea! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

MODZ WHERE R UZ?

Thanks for the replies guys.

How are the CDT's? I've never heard of the company. Looking at the CL-60s for $120, or the CL-E61NEO for $150. How would these compare to the Image Dynamics comps?

I love mine. I'd be interested to see how they stack up to the ID set, but I have no issues with mine to make me want to change...like, EVER.

No I haven't....On average, how much is it to do so? How much of a difference am I looking out with and without deadening it?
Sealing the doors up is essential in my opinion. I can't really give you a concrete number as far as price is concerned. If you just seal the holes and apply deadener here and there it isn't that expensive, but if you want 100% coverage it can cost quite a bit. Material price can vary quite a bit from brand to brand too. I've always used dynamat (most recently dynamat xtreme) and second skin damplifier pro. BOth are expensive, but I've had excellent results with them. I'm aware of other companies, but I've only used the two brands I mentioned...
